Volunteers Needed Sunday, July 3rd
On Sunday, July 3rd, we need your help to pick up compost from Cypress Brewery at 30 Nixon Lane, Edison NJ and help us take it to the Edison Community Garden in Swales Park.
You Want Me to Shovel a Bunch of…?
Hops! Cypress Brewery composts their hops and other ingredients they use to make their delicious beer. They compost their beer ingredients in the back of their brewery, and have generously offered to help us truck it to our gardens to suplement the soil in our beds. It is rich and nutritious mix of grains, hops, yeast, and other natural flavorings they use to make their beer. All we need are some volunteers to help move the compost from behind the brewery and put it in their truck. We’ll then meet back as Swales Park near the garden to help empty the truck.
Schedule for July 3, 2022
9:00am to 12:00pm: Be at Cypress Brewery, 30 Nixon Lane, Edison NJ
12:00pm to 1:00pm:: Swales Park to help unload the compost in our gardens.
Still, this is dirt, so dress in old shoes and long pants that you don’t mind getting dirty. We’ll provide water, snacks, gloves, shovels, and good times.
Also, please bring garden shovels. We’ll bring as many as we can, but we want to make sure there are enough for everyone.
