The Status of the Community Garden at Swales Park

As you probably know, the community garden in Swales Park has not been completed as of yet. 

This delay is caused by supply issues that many of us have experienced this year. This is especially true with construction supplies. The township is waiting for the pieces needed for the garden’s perimeter fencing. This must be put into place before we can build the beds or anything else inside the garden.

Unfortunately due to these supply issues, we don’t have an exact timeframe for when the parts needed for the fence will arrive. This is a disappointment to us as well as you.

However, we’ve been working on this project for two years, so we are willing to take the longer view. We know the garden will be built. We will have beds for the community. We will have classes and help available. It might not happen as quickly as we once hoped, but rest assured that when the construction of the fence begins, we will reach out and let you know. 

We will be adjusting our plans for the remainder of this growing season and will get in touch with all of you to find out who is still interested in garden beds for an abbreviated growing season.
